REGULATION AMENDING THE REGULATION ON JEWELLERY TRADE
ARTICLE 1 – The following subparagraph has been added to the second paragraph of Article 11 of the Regulation on Jewellery Trade, published in the Official Gazette dated 14 April 2021 and numbered 31454:
“e) Jewellery businesses may not offer for sale precious stone products manufactured in a laboratory environment or created through human intervention without clearly displaying at least one of the expressions ‘synthetic’, ‘laboratory-grown’, ‘artificially produced’, or another similar expression deemed appropriate by the Ministry, in a manner easily visible to consumers on the product label, product certificate, invoice, website, advertisements and promotional materials.
Such products and natural precious stones shall be offered for sale in separate sections in display windows and sales areas, and under separate categories in online sales channels, in a manner that does not mislead consumers.”
ARTICLE 2** – This Regulation shall enter into force on the date of its publication.
ARTICLE 3** – The provisions of this Regulation shall be implemented by the Minister of Trade.
